The Journal of Green Transition and Environmental Research publishes peer-reviewed research that helps societies move to a low-carbon, sustainable future. We welcome natural-science, engineering, economic and policy studies on the environment and the green transition.

JGTER considers original work in, but not limited to, the following areas.

Biodiversity and ecosystems
Environmental policy and the green economy

Article types

Research article: Original field, laboratory or modelling studies
Review: Syntheses of current evidence
Policy analysis: Evaluations of environmental policies and regulation
Case study: Lessons from a specific project, city or region

Field studies must list any permits they required. Data and models should be shared where possible so others can verify the results.

Before you submit

Check that your paper fits the aims and scope.
Prepare an anonymised manuscript with no author names or affiliations.
Prepare a separate title page with authors, affiliations, funding and conflicts of interest.
Write a short cover letter confirming the work is original and not under review elsewhere.
Include a data availability statement and disclose any use of generative AI.

Fees and licence

No fee is charged at submission.
Launch offer: the article processing charge is €450 instead of €1,399 for manuscripts submitted by 20 November 2026. It is invoiced only after acceptance.
Payment never affects the editorial decision.
Authors keep copyright, and articles are published under CC BY 4.0.
