Peer review process

A clear process with qualified people at every decision point.

  1. Submit

    Upload your anonymised manuscript and cover letter. You receive a manuscript ID straight away.

  2. Initial check

    The editor checks scope, originality and formatting, supported by automated similarity and reference checks.

  3. Peer review

    At least two independent experts review your paper without knowing who wrote it.

  4. Decision and publication

    After any revisions, accepted papers are edited, given a DOI and published open access.

FTI Publishers peer review workflow 1 Submission; 2 initial screening by the editor with automated checks; 3 reviewer assignment; 4 double-blind peer review; 5 editor recommendation, with possible revise and resubmit back to review; 6 editorial decision: accept leads to 7 production and 8 publication online with a DOI; reject returns the manuscript to the author with feedback. Manuscripts can also be rejected at initial screening. AUTOAutomated checks support this step. All decisions are made by editors and reviewers.
